Bud Wayne Kohler 1930 ~ 2009 Bud Wayne Kohler, age 78, of Pleasant Grove, passed away peacefully July 24, 2009 surrounded by his wife, children and their spouses, after an extended illness. He was born September 15, 1930, in Midway, Utah, to Rex Charles and Estella Paramore Kohler. He married his high school sweetheart Glenna Lindsay on March 23, 1952. In 1979 their marriage was solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple. Bud graduated from Wasatch High School and from Utah Valley State College in electrical engineering. He served in the Korean War in the 7th Armored Division, 440th Armored Field Artillery Battalion, and was discharged with several honors. Upon returning from the service he and Glenna moved to Pleasant Grove. He was employed at Geneva Steel as an Electrician and retired after 32 years. Bud served in several callings in the LDS church including nine years as the High Priest Group leader. He was a friend and neighbor to all and understood the true nature of service. Bud had a great love for his wife, family, and friends. Everyone that came in contact with him found instant respect and love. His great passion was the outdoors and he spent many days hunting, fishing, and camping with his family in the mountains above his beloved Midway valley. Bud was an expert in gardening, including grafting several varieties of fruit trees onto one tree. He also enjoyed raising several breeds of exotic sheep. He taught his children to stand together, have a strong work ethic and to love and support each other. He took great pride in the friendships among his children, their spouses and grandchildren. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him many happy days and a mighty legacy. He was a dedicated husband and father, who provided for his family and encouraged our dreams. He was our treasured leader, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. We will miss you Daddy. He is survived by his wife Glenna, three daughters, and one son. Sue, (Craig) Faux, Pleasant Grove; Vicki (John) Davis, Sandy; Scott (Becci) Kohler, Plain City; Tracy (Jason) Wilcox, American Fork, 14 grandchildren and eight great-grand children. Also, his brother Doyle (Lillie) Kohler and sister Vilate Long. He was preceded in death by his precious baby daughter Kristy, his parents and Brother, Rex Dean Kohler. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. in the North Field 14th ward chapel: 2195 N. 100 E. Pleasant Grove, UT. Friends may call at the Olpin Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove, Tuesday evening 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church Wednesday one hour prior to serv
